Ordering the parts for my new computer today! So excited. If you guys want the specs, they are here: Awesome Computer Parts
Many people asked why I wasn’t too excited about going home. Well this picture represents a large reason why I was not looking forward to coming back. Keep in mind this is the first day I got back from college…
This past week has been a hard one in terms of trying to pack up and leave.
As you might or might not know, UCD requires students to move the furniture back to it’s original configuration. If you bunked your beds, you have to unbunk them etc.
I live in a triple and one of my roommates arrived late on move in day and got the top bunk. After much complaining all three of us agreed to move the room around so we could all have a bed on the floor. I designed everything using scaled models on Gimp and one day later we had our unique room configuration.
This room ended up isolating us a bit by keeping us all in our corner, but none the less, everyone was happier.
Fast forward to today. I am being threatened along with everyone else that changed their room with a fine of $75 if I don’t move the room back. Problem #1: Roommate that was complaining is with his girlfriend who had to go to the hospital.
Not too bad. I start moving the furniture around by myself and dust everything waiting for my other roommate to bring a vacuum and wrench. We forgot to ask for the pins that hold the top bunk on the bottom bunk so I go to the main desk and it turns out they only have one pin out of the four that I need. They tell me that I can just leave the room and submit a repair request (the repair guy has today off)(the soonest I could ask him if he has spare pins would be tomorrow) so that if I do get charged with the $75 fee, I can protest it. They then send me to ask the other two residence areas for their pins.
Of course they don’t have any. I come back to a different lady who tells me that we will most likely be charged the $75 fee because our room is so different and encourages us to move it back to normal as much as possible. This is impossible if I cannot bunk the bed. It is physically impossible. I would attendee. I simulated dozens of scenarios. Upon hearing this, the service desk attendee told me that I would just have to bunk the bed in the morning. It takes a good 1-2 hours to re-arrange the entire room. This assumes that either the roommate that isn’t coming back to our dorm tonight will help me or my other roommate who is leaving bright and early will have time.
Now my entire room looks like the furniture has randomly been placed throughout the room and I patiently await the stupid pins. And the way that the room is now configured, I will have a hard time clearing all the stuff on my bed. Hopefully my RA would be okay if I slept on the couch tonight. Ahh. And the kicker. I had two finals today while running around doing stuff and my biggest final is tomorrow at 1. Luckily I have my trusty gummy worms to console me.
I love ranting to the internet because only a handful of people will hear me and even fewer will care!
Man. I wish I was cool enough to wear this.
Harry Potter humor just gets to me XD
I feel that I might still get partial credit depending on how knowledgeable my teacher was…
Another silly math cartoon I made :). Proof of Love…
Seeing as how I am actually starting to prove theorems, this is very relevant.
…okay, but because you said that, we’re breaking up.
Oh the joy of bringing math into a relationship
